MENTIONS:

SINGING LESSONS:

  1. As a singer, you get paid when you work and if you don’t work, you don’t get paid.
  2. Know what market you’re targeting and make sure everything your marketing is in alignment with that.
  3. There is plenty of work to go around to everybody and if you’re not getting work, I think it’s a question of how are you approaching getting gigs? Are you on the phone during the day hunting things down or are you waiting for opportunities to come along?
  4. If you’re gonna next level the way you’re making money in this business you need to establish what the value of your time and energy is and the return that you’re getting. It’s considering things like, How much work do I have to do behind the scenes before I get to his gig? How many songs am I having to learn? How many hours is that gonna take me? What is my commuting time? What kind of gear do I need to show up with? How much time did I spend in school investing my life and becoming this level of a musician?
  5. It’s holding the line on your pricing and knowing that you might have to say no here and there and it can take a little while to build up the clientele that’s willing to pay your rates and has the budget.
